In recent years, the concept of Open Science has gained
significant momentum, transforming the traditional research landscape
and revolutionizing the way knowledge is created, shared, and
utilized. Open Science embodies a set of principles and practices that
emphasize transparency, accessibility, reproducibility, and
collaboration in the scientific process. Additionally, it aligns
closely with the FAIR principles, which advocate for data to be
Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
Integration of Open Science practices and the FAIR principles
dovetails with initiatives such as NFDI4Microbiota, which focuses on
advancing research related to microbiota as part of the the National
Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) in Germany. NFDI4Microbiota aims
to establish a comprehensive data infrastructure that promotes the
FAIR principles specifically within the domain of microbiota
research. By offering tools, services and training, NFDI4microbiota
facilitates the sharing and integration of microbiota-related data,
ultimately accelerating discoveries in this research field.
This talk aims to explore the multifaceted aspects of Open Science in
conjunction with the FAIR principles and initiatives like
NFDI4Microbiota.
