CMMC SYMPOSIUM 25 Years of Progress in Molecular Medicine:From Basic Research to Clinical Application

CMMC Symposium GOES HYBRID
The CMMC Symposium will be held as a hybrid meeting with live streaming including an interactive virtual meeting platform.

Over the last 25 years, medicine has undergone an impressive development and the understanding of the pathogenesis of diseases at the molecular and cellular level has contributed significantly to the development of specific tools for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diseases.

However, in recent years it has also become clear that a direct translation of current knowledge into new therapeutic options for the treatment of human diseases is more complex than originally thought. One reason for this is that the principles of disease development and practically all pathomechanisms - with the exception of some rare monogenetic diseases - are the result of complex, often overlapping changes. In addition to genetic aberrations and predispositions, epigenetics plays an important role in the development and progression of diseases as well as diverse environmental and nutritional influences and complex interlocking pathomechanisms. Genetic and epigenetic changes influence the finely tuned intracellular and intercellular signal transduction networks of cells, tissues and organs, which together constitute the communication system of the human organism.

In order to highlight and discuss these important developments, it is our great pleasure to announce the CMMC Symposium - 25 Years of Progress in Molecular Medicine: From Basic Research to Clinical Application taking place from September 26 - 28, 2021 in Cologne.

Supported by  Leopoldina Nationale Akademie der Wissenschaften and Fritz Thyssen Stiftung

Thanks to the outstanding support of the external scientific coordinators we succeeded to setup and present a scientific program with international leading experts for the following sessions:

  •  Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine
  •  Molecular Oncology and Genomic Medicine
  •  Precision Medicine in Cancer Treatment
  •  Infectious Diseases
  •  Neuroplasticity and Neurodegeneration
  •  Metabolism and Aging

Participation in the CMMC Symposium is free of charge (no conference fee). For organizational reasons, online registration is required.

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we are hoping to welcome you in person in Cologne in September.  To be prepared for any situation we decided to host the CMMC Symposium as a hybrid meeting with live streaming including an interactive virtual meeting platform integrating the digital poster session.
