Prof. Dr Konrad Förstner becomes a member of the NFDI Scientific Senate

Involvement in the substantive and strategic orientation of the National Research Data Infrastructure

Prof. Förstner's term of office begins on 11 September 2023. The main tasks of the Scientific Senate include advising on the project progress of the consortia, deciding on cross-disciplinary standards and metadata standards, and deciding on the inclusion and integration of cross-disciplinary services. The Scientific Senate is chaired by the Director of the Association, Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter, and consists of twelve other experts.

ZB MED has been a driving force behind the National Research Data Infrastructure right from the start and is an official member of the NFDI e.V. organisation. ZB MED is involved in multiple individual consortia dedicated to specific subject areas – NFDI4Health, NFDI4Microbiota, NFDI4Data Science and FAIRagro – and will also be working on the development of interdisciplinary basic services in the Base4NFDI consortium.
