Virtual user card for the remote access and digital library

If you are resident in Germany, you can use this registration form to apply online, free of charge, for a virtual user card to use the ZB MED digital library.

What can you do?

If you receive an error message preventing you from submitting your registration, there are several options available. Please try registering using a different browser, a different device (e.g. your smartphone) or from a different network. If you are still unable to register, please feel free to send us an email.

Please note that remote access may only be used for personal training and research purposes.

In addition the download is limited to 2 GB per hour. If this limit is exceeded, the user card will be blocked automatically. Please also note the information on copyright.

For a complete application, please attach a copy/scan/photo of both sides of your valid identity card (or one of the documents listed here).
Note on the use of personal data:
ID data that is not required for identification purposes can be blacked out on the copy by the ID card holder. The name, address, validity of the ID card and date of birth are relevant, as we are contractually obliged to check whether the user lives in Germany. The scans are deleted immediately after verification.

 

Documents required for identification and verification of residence in Germany:

  • a valid ID card (front and back)
    or
  • a passport together with proof of residence in the form of a registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung)
    or
  • a driving licence together with proof of residence in the form of a registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung)
    or
  • a foreign ID card together with proof of residence in the form of a registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung) or electronic residence permit (eAT)
