The jury particularly highlights the achievements in open science, the provision of trustworthy information and digital sovereignty. ZB MED’s pioneering role in research data management is also recognised, including within the networks of the National Research Data Infrastructure.

“The award recognises ZB MED’s initiatives in the fields of open science and digital sovereignty,” emphasises Scientific Director Prof. Dr Dietrich Rebholz-Schuhmann. He adds that the prize is also a tribute to the entire open science community. Acting Library Director Dr Miriam Albers sees the award above all as a tribute to the staff.

The ‘Library of the Year’ award is presented annually by the dbv to innovative and forward-looking libraries.
