Call for Presentations: 9th Retrodigitisation Workshop

The workshop will focus on user research. Submissions are open until 15 October 2026.

On 11 and 12 March 2027, the 9th Retrodigitisation Workshop will take place at the TIB Hannover*. Under the theme ‘Hello, what can we do for you? – User research in retrodigitisation’, the workshop is seeking presentations and case studies that address the needs of users of digitised content.

 

Key themes of the contributions

  • Defining the objectives of user research: What can be investigated? Who are the users?
  • Practical approaches: Methodology – from eye-tracking to user interviews
  • Machine vs. human: Dealing with AI bots and alternative approaches to digitised material
  • Findings and lessons learnt: Has user research helped to better understand users’ needs?

     

Format and Submission

The programme will feature 20-minute short presentations with practical examples. Abstracts of no more than 500 words should be emailed to Monika Zarnitz by 15 October 2026.
