New ways to access specialist literature: CINAHL in ZB MED remote access
The international specialised database CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) is now available free of charge to all registered ZB MED users. Access for scientific research is uncomplicated via remote access. All users resident in Germany benefit from the expansion of digital services at ZB MED.
CINAHL is one of the most important databases for nursing sciences, healthcare, therapeutic and other healthcare professions. It indexes the most important literature and covers subject areas such as nursing, biomedicine, alternative and complementary medicine, consumer health and many more. It offers comprehensive references to specialised literature, includes full texts in some cases, AI-generated summaries of 717 active journals and offers special keywording. This enables a targeted search - from current research results to practice-orientated articles.
Access to CINAHL is possible for up to seven days and only requires registration for remote access and the booking of a time slot in the booking tool.
Dr Miriam Albers, acting head of the library at ZB MED, emphasises: ‘With CINAHL, we are expanding our range of services to include a central resource for nursing and health sciences. Our aim is to make access to scientific literature as low-threshold and efficient as possible.’
As the central specialised library for the life sciences, ZB MED is continuously investing in the expansion of digital resources. CINAHL complements the existing portfolio of e-journals and e-books. Embase - focussing on biomedicine - is already available as a specialist database. Remote access is exclusively available to all registered users resident in Germany.
