ZB MED signs WikiLibrary Manifesto

The common vision of the initiative is to create a reliable, machine-readable, collaboratively maintained Linked Open Data network for the arts, culture and science as a solid base for FAIR knowledge.

ZB MED promotes open, reproducible research based on the principles of open science and FAIR data. This guideline is in line with the vision of the WikiLibrary Manifesto, which is therefore naturally supported by ZB MED. Prof. Dr. Dietrich Rebholz-Schuhmann, Scientific Director of ZB MED, has drawn the manifesto today.

The WikiLibrary Manifesto aims at connecting libraries and Wikimedia projects such as Wikibase in an international network of knowledge. The German National Library and Wikimedia Deutschland e.V. jointly launched the initiative in November 2020 as first signatories. The manifesto has received broad support in the library community.
