National Gold Open Access Publishing Consortium starting in 2024

ZB MED and Frontiers sign Germany-wide flat-fee agreement

The consortium agreement for Open Access publications enables scientists from all disciplines at German research institutions to publish their publications Open Access and thus directly accessible in any Frontiers journal. Participation in the consortium offers interested institutions price reductions as well as budget and planning security within the framework of a flat fee model. The agreement negotiated jointly by ZB MED - Information Center for Life Sciences and TIB - Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology with the Gold Open Access publisher Frontiers is the first of its kind in Europe. It has a term of three years and begins in January 2024.
