Zilien (engl. cilia), das sind antennenartige Zellorganellen, die auf fast allen Zellen des menschlichen Körpers vorkommen. Viele schwere Erkrankungen sind direkt auf Störungen von Zilien zurückzuführen. Trotz intensiver Forschung fehlen bislang kausale Therapien.

„Cilia2020“ bringt Kliniker/innen und Wissenschaftler/innen zusammen und integriert auch Patienten in das Programm.


Themen beinhalten "cilia in cancer", "cilia in metabolism", "cilia in neurons", "structure biology of cilia", "trafficking and signaling", sowie klinische Aspekte von Ziliopathien.
