Zum einen verlangt die Gesundheitsgesellschaft eine aktive und kompetente Beteiligung an der eigenen Gesunderhaltung, an der Bewältigung chronischer Erkrankungen in einem komplexer werdenden Gesundheitssystem und an einem wachsenden Gesundheitsmarkt. Zum anderen entwickeln Patienten selbst neue Formen des Empowerments und der gegenseitigen Unterstützung, z.B. durch die kreative Nutzung neuer Informationstechnologien, Internet basierter Plattformen und sozialer Netzwerke.

Mit nationalen und internationalen Partnern wird Careum auf diesem Kongress eine breite Vielfalt von patientenbezogenen Innovationen im Gesundheitswesen, in der Gesundheitspolitik und auf dem Gesundheitsmarkt vorstellen.
