27. Ernst Klenk Symposium in Molecular Medicine - Lipid metabolic diseases:
novel developments in molecular pathology and therapy

Köln

Internationally leading scientists in the field of lipidomics, lipid
biochemistry, cell biology and metabolic diseases will discuss the state-of-the-art research in four sections:
* Novel tools in the molecular pathology of metabolic diseases
* Pathophysiology of lipid metabolism and cholersterol homeostasis
* Atherosclerosis, inflammation and thrombosis
* Obesity and insulin resistance

As key note speakers Nobel Prize laureates Joseph L. Goldstein and Michael
Brown (Univ. of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, USA) will share the podium for the Ernst Klenk Lecture entitled "Surviving Starvation: Essential Role of the Ghrelin-Growth Hormone Axis" on Monday, Oct. 03, 2011 at 6 p.m.

This symposium is organized by the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne
(CMMC) with the intention to provide a forum for discussion of novel developments in this rapidly developing area of biomedical research and addresses scientists and students from academia and industry.
