Topical focus is the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the planning, control and monitoring of surgical or radiological interventions. The symposium will be organized by the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology of the Leipzig University Hospital in cooperation with the Department of Radiology (Prof. Ferenc Jolesz) at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, and the Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences (Prof. Jonathan Lewin) at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. The meeting takes place every two years alternately in Germany and the United States. More than 350 physicians and researchers attended the last meeting in September 2012 in Boston.
