Profile

Lukas Hassel studied Computer Science at the University of Siegen (B.Sc., graduated in 2020) and spent an Erasmus semester at Tallinn University in Estonia. He completed his Master of Science in Computer Science as part of the joint degree programme run by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam (due to graduate in 2023), specialising in parallel computing, performance engineering and evolutionary algorithms. He then worked as a full-stack software developer at Kexxu in Amsterdam, where he specialised in computer vision, AI, embedded systems, and backend and frontend development. He has also co-authored academic publications on the Travelling Tournament Problem. Since May 2026, he has been supporting the SemTec team at ZB MED as a software developer.
