BioNT

Bio Network for Training

BioNT is an international consortium of academic institutions and SMEs. Its goal is to establish a top-quality training programme and community aimed at fostering digital skills that are relevant to both the biotechnology industry and the biomedical sector.

The training programme is divided into two different levels. The basic curriculum is designed for employees or job seekers who have little experience in handling, processing, and visualising biological data, and/or in using computer-assisted tools for the life sciences. The advanced curriculum is intended for data stewards, system administrators and other professionals who play a key role in managing and using computer resources in their workplace. The programme is based around short, tailor-made remote workshops and recordings of training sessions. All the training materials are made available on a dedicated web platform as open educational resources.

As well as drawing on the expertise of its members in digital skills training, BioNT harnesses a broad network of collaborative ventures and initiatives that aim to professionalise data management, processing, and analysis skills in the life sciences. The planned training and outreach activities will be enhanced through standardisation and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies. The consortium’s structure and its ties to relevant networks will help make the project sustainable and promote the efficient transfer of knowledge to participants both during and after the project.
