Darum Open Access!

The microsite DARUM ZB MED! bundles topic-specific tips and information for scientific work in the life sciences. On the occasion of the International Open Access Week, the new topic page has now gone online.

Why hasn't Open Access become the standard long ago? Why are there still paywalls for many scientific publications? Or more generally: Why does Open Access make sense? The new DARUM topic page on Open Access looks at all these questions and other aspects. We look at how the paradigm shift from subscription models to Open Access came about and where we stand today in the Open Access transformation. In addition, we provide an overview of the history and development of the OA movement or the design of an OA policy in blog posts. In addition, we have compiled helpful FAQs that provide concrete assistance for scientific and scholarly work. Of course, there are also tips on publication opportunities for researchers, for example in a blog post that highlights the possibilities offered by our Open Access publication platform PUBLISSO.
