ZB MED – Information Centre for Life Sciences supports all the activities involved in research data management. This includes all the methods and processes that aim to make research data usable over the long term, a list that encompasses data generation and processing, metadata enrichment, quality assurance, publication, safeguarding access, digital preservation and long-term interpretability of the data.
On this basis, ZB MED expects its employees to compile and document the research data from their research projects with digital preservation in mind. Employees should take the necessary steps to ensure this research data will remain traceable and accessible over the long term, as a general rule for a period of at least 10 years.
