“From Big Data to Smart Knowledge – Text and Data Mining in Science and Economy”
The conference will examine a number of issues that information centres and libraries will need to address in the future, such as: How can we assist and support people in using scientific information beyond simply providing access to PDF files? How can unstructured data be used in ways that go beyond ‘traditional’ acts such as reading texts and watching films? And how can future-oriented library services utilise text and data mining to support research in the fields of science and engineering, life sciences, and economics?
These are just some of the topics that will be discussed at the international conference at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Cologne. With a carefully chosen selection of presentations by international experts and researchers from industry and the academic community, the conference will present the current state of research in the field of text and data mining and provide insights into how these tools may develop in the future.
This event is organised by Goportis – Leibniz Library Network of Research Information in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing SCAI.
